Accomodation Florence: weather and information
Weather
Generally speaking, Italy has a mild climate. Summertime in Italy is usually very hot while autumn and spring may be very rainy. Snow is common during the winter months in the mountain regions of the North (Alps) and in the highest regions of the Central and Southern Apennine.
Florence, situated at the foot of the Apennine mountain range, is barely affected by the mild influence of the sea despite it is less than 100 km or 60 miles away from it. In the summertime the weather can be very hot and humid.
SUMMER
You can be sure that July and August in Tuscany will be hot, sometimes stiflingly so, thanks to the humidity levels that can make Florence and the major cities of Tuscany veritable hothouses.
FALL
September can still be very hot with October being a fine month to visit Tuscany - blue skies without the packed cities and the intense heat. But, some like it hot!
WINTER
November sees night-time temperatures really begin to drop, with crisp Autumn days to accompany the main olive harvest throughout Tuscany. Winter in Tuscany can be cold and wet but spring always seems to come quickly.
SPRING
March is azalea and camelia time, whilst April and May are sometimes very wet months.
